The MaAnt MY-83A 183°C (50g) Silver-Containing PPD Solder Paste is an advanced micro-soldering consumable engineered specifically for high-precision mobile phone motherboard rework, BGA reballing, and fine-pitch SMD IC replacement. Built on an optimized 183°C eutectic alloy matrix infused with microscopic silver (Ag) particles, the MY-83A formula significantly reduces internal contact impedance, accelerates heat transfer during reflow, and eliminates false or dry solder joints across dense ball grids.

Formulated with ultra-fine Type 4 (20–38 µm) spherical powder suspended in a high-activity, non-drying rosin vehicle, MaAnt MY-83A flows cleanly across laser-cut direct-heat stencils. It maintains sharp edge definition without slumping into adjacent apertures, preventing solder bridging on tightly spaced 0.3mm–0.4mm pitch CPU, baseband, and power management (PMIC) pads.

Key Capabilities & Engineering Features

  • Silver-Infused Alloy Matrix: Added silver micro-particles increase electrical and thermal conductivity while reinforcing mechanical shear resistance, preventing solder joints from fatiguing or micro-fracturing under thermal expansion cycles.
  • Stable 183°C Eutectic Melting Point: Sharp solid-to-liquid transition provides predictable reflow cycles, eliminating pasty intermediate states and preventing cold solder joints during hot-air rework.
  • Anti-False Welding Chemistry: High wetting action breaks through tough oxide layers on bare copper, gold, and nickel-plated pads, ensuring complete metallurgical fusion and bright, shiny spherical solder balls.
  • Microscopic Type 4 Particle Profile (20–38 µm): Uniform spherical alloy particles ensure smooth squeegee scraping through micro-stencil apertures without missing pads, voids, or dry spots.
  • Balanced Anti-Slump Viscosity: Retains structural shape inside stencil cutouts during pre-heat phases, preventing molten alloy from bleeding outward and bridging adjacent pads.
  • No-Clean, Non-Corrosive Mild Residue: Leaves a clear, high-impedance residue that will not cause parasitic current leakage or trace corrosion. Cleans away effortlessly with standard PCB cleaner or 99% isopropyl alcohol (IPA).
  • Sealed 50g Workshop Packaging: Packaged in an airtight screw-top tub with an internal foil seal to lock in flux moisture and ensure extended bench shelf life.

Smartphone CPU/GPU/NAND BGA reballing, baseband ICs, PMIC rework, FPC connector soldering

Step-by-Step BGA Stencil Reballing Workflow

  1. Room Temperature Acclimation: If stored under refrigeration, allow the sealed container to rest at room temperature for 1 to 2 hours before unsealing to avoid atmospheric condensation inside the paste.
  2. Pad Bed Preparation: Clean residual solder off the IC pads using high-grade desoldering wick and PCB cleaner until all pads are flat, bright, and free of old oxidized alloy.
  3. Align & Fix Stencil: Mount a matching precision direct-heat or magnetic stencil over the IC pads, ensuring exact aperture alignment with zero gap between the stencil and chip surface.
  4. Scrape Paste Smoothly: Apply a small bead of MaAnt MY-83A and scrape across the stencil apertures with a stainless micro-spatula at a 45° angle. Ensure every aperture is filled flush and clean off excess surface paste.
  5. Hot-Air Heating: Set your hot-air rework station to 280°C–300°C with low airflow (air volume 2–3). Direct the nozzle 1.5–2 cm above the stencil in continuous circular motions until all solder balls melt into uniform, bright spheres.
  6. Cool & Release: Allow the assembly to cool for 15–20 seconds. Lightly spray PCB cleaner or IPA over the stencil, separate the reballed IC smoothly, and brush away any remaining flux.
